Subject: Blazing Donna Jean recording & show
Another gem from Jon Hart. This recording is as good as it gets. This is a solid band who is playing together for the first time. Donna has solid support from Mark & Mookie and a tight back bone of David MacKay & Barry Lowenthal.

After the band finds their way with each other for the first 2 songs, this show kicks into high gear. Plenty of synergy between Donna & Mark wtih some growling vocals on "Sugaree," & "Annie Don't Lie," and a fat jam in the middle of "Easy Wind."

They really take it out there on "New Speedway," and Mookie shines on George Harrison's "Isn't It a Pity," with Mark spicing it up with some "Hey Jude" riffs. Check out Mark's "Tequila" licks on "Green River," too. Despite a clunky ending to the show, this is a rager!

Notes

The Band:

Donna Jean Godchaux MacKay - vocals
Mark Karan - guitar, vocals
Mookie Siegel - keyboards, vocals
David MacKay - bass, vocals
Barry Lowenthal - drums
